If you’re trying to make money from home without talking to strangers, going live on social media, or selling to your friends — I get it.
That’s exactly where I started.
I’m naturally introverted. I don’t want to be on camera. I don’t want to cold message people. But I do want to contribute financially and build something real from home.
So I started testing small research and survey sites for stay at home moms to see what was actually worth my time.
Here’s what I’ve learned so far.
Why I’m Focusing on Research & Survey Sites
When you’re a stay-at-home mom, flexibility matters more than anything.
I needed something that:
- Doesn’t require talking
- Doesn’t require video
- Doesn’t require selling
- Can be done in short chunks of time
Survey and research platforms check those boxes.
They’re not glamorous. But they’re simple. And simple is good when life is busy.
1. Prolific
Prolific is a research study platform where universities and companies pay people to participate in studies.
So far, I’ve made a small amount testing it. It’s not life-changing money — but it’s legitimate and straightforward.
What I like:
- No talking involved
- No selling
- Clear time estimates
- Pays fairly for the time spent
It’s flexible, which works well between housework, kids, and normal life.
Are Survey Sites Enough to Replace an Income?
Here’s the honest answer:
No.
Survey sites are good for extra money. They can help with groceries, gas, or small bills. But they’re not likely to replace a full income.
And that’s something I had to accept.
That realization is actually what pushed me to start building this blog — something long-term that could grow over time instead of trading minutes for dollars forever.
What I Avoid Now
After testing a few platforms, I’ve learned:
- If it pays pennies for 30 minutes, it’s not worth it.
- If it feels confusing or shady, I skip it.
- If it requires constant qualifying with no payouts, I move on.
Time matters more than hype.
My Plan Going Forward
Right now, I’m doing two things:
- Using small flexible platforms for extra cash
- Building this blog as a long-term income stream
I don’t need to be loud to make money online.
I just need consistency.
